The #2 trout and bird knife is a smaller version of Grohmanns original knife. Good for dressing game but can also be used for camp cooking duties which make it perfect for hiking and hunting.
this special wood is selected for its durability, colour & rich grain. A good solid handle material that gets a better grip after use, but like any good knife with quality steel it is not recommended to be left soaking in water. Rosewood is always an excellent choice for a classic handle.
Grohmann takes pride in their products and that means using high quality materials. Grohmann's most popular steel in the outdoor fixed blade knives are fashioned from european high carbon stainless steels, such as 4110, which is somewhat comparable to the USA 440 series. This steel has stood the test of time due to its ease of sharpening and edge holding ability.
Rockwell hardness 56-58 degrees is maintained throughout all of the Outdoor knives.
Superior handcrafted quality also refers to Grohmann’s custom designed leather sheaths. Every Belt Knife comes with a top grade oil tanned sheath. All leather sheaths are made of 6 to 8 ounce steer-hide that is glued, stitched and riveted for maximum strength & durability. Each sheath is then oiled tanned and polished by hand to give it a beautiful finish.
